ANDERSON, Louise Latimer-Age 87, died August 17, 2007
Born in Chevy Chase, Maryland to Lilian Cragin Latimer and John Wilmer Latimer.
Beloved wife, devoted mother, grandmother and loving sister. Survived by her husband of 63 years, James J. Anderson, her five children: James Hagan Anderson of Charleston, SC; John Latimer Anderson, M. D. of Brentwood, David Bruce Anderson of Durham, NC; Katherine Elizabeth Anderson of Mt. Juliet, TN; and Charles Cragin Anderson, M.D. of Boulder, CO; her sister, Mary Lane Meryman of Ashton, Maryland; and eleven grandchildren.
Louise graduated from the University of Miami where she met her future husband. While she waited for her beloved Jim to return from service in the Navy in WWII, she worked as a librarian in Washington, DC. They married in Chevy Chase, MD in 1944. They began their life married life together in Miami, Florida. Jim's career with Bell Telephone took them from Florida, New Jersey, Mississippi, Nashville, Atlanta, Birmingham and finally returning to Nashville. She and her husband resided on Kingsbury Drive for 34 years. They resided at the Blakeford in Green Hills.
Louise delighted in her children and grandchildren. She was a lover of classical music and theater. A constant reader, she was a faithful student of the Scriptures. She was an active member of Calvary United Methodist Church for almost 40 years where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She also volunteered as a prayer counselor with the Upper Room, and hosted Bible studies in her home.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 22 at 10:00 am at Calvary United Methodist Church in Green Hills. Services will follow at 11:00 am with Reverend Peter van Eys officiating. A private family burial will follow. Guests are invited to a reception at Blakeford in Green Hills at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, Hillsboro Road, Nashville, TN.
