Thomas W. Balls and Alice Miller Balls, my uncle and aunt, will always carry a special place in my heart with many pleasant memories. Thomas led a full life with so many talents. The love he and Alice shared with family can only be respected and cherished. Leading and teaching others were special gifts God bestowed on each of them. Thomas possessed an absolutely delightful love of the outdoors and he used masterful photography to capture it. His outdoor photographs were always so beautiful, anyone seeing them had to feel enriched. Having spent some enjoyable times in the Great Smokey Mountains with Thomas and Alice’s family and my family, I know how much they loved it there and I believe Thomas and Alice are now enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery from a vantage point we can only dream about. May God rest their blessed eternal souls.

Mr. Balls and NADC changed my life back in 1977. He gave me the skills to succeed in the automotive industry and start my own business. I remember him as a good man, devoted to his students. I will miss him as the many other NADC students will also. Rest in piece. Jim White
