Brodie R. Wilkinson, III age 22 of Springfield passed away on Saturday October 6, 2018.
He is the oldest child of Brodie Jr. and Olivia Wilkinson and big brother to Layne Wilkinson. A graduate of Greenbrier High School class of 2014, Brodie was described as a kind hearted and friendly guy. He loved life and enjoyed making others smile, was always helping others in need, and would never say no to anyone.
Brodie appreciated the quiet of the early morning. He and his mom developed a special bond hunting together, settling in to wait for the sun to rise and wake up the woods. Brodie and his Dad enjoyed rebuilding old cars, going to car shows, pickin’ parts in junk yards, and farming with his Paw Paw. Layne and Brodie enjoyed playing Air-soft, video games, riding 4-wheelers, hanging out with friends together, or going over to David Morgan’s house to spend quality time with their Godfather.
Brodie was so proud of his BMW, but still had a special place for his truck and field cars. “The Faster the Better” he would say. Brodie was just like any other boy growing up, he played in the dirt and collected bugs. That curiosity developed into his bedroom full of lizards, bearded dragons, and other exotic reptiles. His room became so full that scorpions are currently taking over the kitchen counter.
His mother described Brodie as being 99% perfect, always helping to lend a hand to his family and friends. He had a heart of gold and will truly be missed.
Brodie is preceded in death by his grandparents Brodie, Sr & Mavella Wilkinson.
He is survived by his parents, Brodie, Jr and Olivia Wilkinson; brother, Layne Wilkinson; grandparents, Tom and Victoria Warner; aunts, Leigh Ann Warner and Abbie Warner; cousins, Blake Warner and Ashlynn Warner and a host of close and dear friends.
