Sue Jouett Butchee
Born October 13, 1910 in San Angelo, Texas and died on March 27, 2009 in Nashville, TN . She attended Northwestern University in Natchitoches, LA. She received a degree in music education and later returned to earn a degree in elementary education. She taught in the Caddo Parish School System for 23 years. Sue was the organist at Mangum Memorial United Methodist Church and after retiring started the Bell Choir and sang in the choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theron H. Butchee. She is survived by her sons, Theron H. Butchee, Jr. Dana Long Butchee, Nashville, TN and Joseph Kerlin Butchee Christa Townsend Butchee Olathe, KS; one grandchild, Ellanor Leatherwood, Berlin, Germany; and special friends, Virginia Dearborn and Gayle and Ed Vance, Nashville, TN and many friends in Shreveport, LA and Nashville, TN. The family wishes to thank all of you , who shared her life. The family will have a graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery at 9:30 am, March 30, 2009, courtesy of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, LA. A memorial service will be held at Mangum Memorial United Methodist Church 3939 Pines Road, Shreveport, LA on March 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.

    Sue Butchee was a great lady. She taught two of my children in elementary school, and she and I played tennis for several years at the South Lakeshore Community Club. We lost touch, but I very much enjoyed the times I spent with her on the tennis court.
