God used you and your amazing gifts to bring me closer to Him and to throw away all that was holding me from him. You meant so much to me and you were such a blessing. I truly look forward to seeing you again so we may rejoice in Heaven together as a prince and princess of God. You will always be in my heart Carl and I shall never forget the words you said to change my life for the better. I will miss and love you always.

You were always a joy to be around and we have fond memories of all the good times you had with us. You have joined Dad (Bill Thompson) in heaven and I know you two are having a blast talking about old times and the insurance business. You will truly be missed and we are praying for your family. Thank you for the fun times!

  6. Rich Rohde says:

Carl, the last time we served together at the camp in Westmoreland, you put your arm around me and told me that you loved and appreciated me. Little did we know that those would be our final words. I cherish those words. I knew you as a compassionate man who liked to laugh and have fun but your first concern was always for ones salvation. We will laugh together again my friend.

  7. Wendy Harmon says:

Carl, my greatest memories of you started over 35 years ago when I was a little girl and both our families attended church at Valley View Baptist. I remember you and Pat getting together with my parents and playing cards on the weekends, and for many years you were a big part of my life. I remember the night before my wedding, you gave me a ride to meet up with some friends and gave me some “fatherly” advice. The last time I saw you was a couple years ago at my parents house. It was raining really hard and I had parked on the street. You insisted on walking me to my car with an umbrella (I wanted to just make a run for it lol), and the last thing you said was “I love you”. You never lost that huge smile and sense of humor that I remember so well as a child. Thank you for the memories. Pat, Carl Jr, Ryan and Michelle, I am so very sorry for your loss and will be keeping you and your families in my prayers.

  8. Joan Williams says:

Carl is my cousin and I will always remember him as the most loving and generous of all the cousins. He was the one who was first to smile, give a hug, or help dry a tear. It is a shock to lose him so suddenly but a blessing to know that his earthly life will be rewarded handsomely by a loving God who smiled whenever he heard Carl’s voice.

Pat & children, I am so sorry to read of Carl’s passing in the paper this morning! Ironicaly, I’d been thinking about all of you recently. We started out our married life together as neighbors on Regent Dr. with small children, no money but loads of fun. My family and I lost Randy on June 13 this year. He had suffered from the effects of a stroke for 3 years. Randy was waiting to welcome Carl into heaven, how exciting!! My sympathy to you, dear one, and your family. Love, Judy Dozier

UCarl I remember a time both of our families were eating at a shoneys and a group of people slipped out the door without. Paying the bill and without hesitation you and dad got up and chased after them….you were a strong man that always did what was right and like my sister wendy….I love you were the last words you said to me . You asked me if I had accepted god into my life and heart in our conversation in my moms driveway. It just shows what kind of man you are ….you’ve made your glorious destination and I can see the biggest smile on your face praising our God and Jesus Christ!!!!!!! Praising God for the opportunity to have Carl as my best friend for 30yrs. We shared so many happy and not so happy moments in this life. Carl always knew when to call, stop by, pray for me, and when I needed to laugh cause I was being to serious! Carl believed in having fun! As I have reflected over these past days I realize he was trying to teach me how to have fun and at times I was not a good student. I love you my friend and look forward to seeing you when my time here is done. To Pat and family, you know how much Kathi and I love you and will be with you in the many days ahead.

  14. Melody Harmon says:

My dearest precious friends, Carl and Pat….we have a lifetime of shared memories…to many to count, each one filled with laughter and hardships…each one filled with love for each other and our children….each one filled with adventure and experiences we shared….Carl has finished his journey through life with a crown on his head and eternity of praising God ahead for him……we must still finish that journey..until our time here on earth is over…and we join him, other loved ones and Jesus…keep strong, Pat…we’ll do it together….helping, supporting and loving until our last breath……Carl has left us with wonderful memories of his ministry to others….God bless you and your family….we’ll talk soon…Mel

  15. Paul and Gloria Moore says:

We are so glad God chose to put you in our lives for the season we were together. Carl will be greatly missed, but God still has a plan for you. You and your family are in our prayers. If there is anything we can do for you, please let us know.

    Love you both

  16. Larry J. Martin says:

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of such a great man of God. I’ll never forget and have often mentioned to others, as recently as the past couple of weeks, about what wonderful Youth Ministry workers Carl and Pat were during mine and Susie’s days at College Heights Baptist Church. Ps. 116:15 tells us: “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” I look forward to one day seeing that big grin and once again sharing fellowship with this dear Brother! Pat and family, know that you are in our prayers.

    • Jackie Diel says:

Pat, I am so sorry for you going through this difficult time. I, of course, know what you’re feeling. I want to thank you for being my friend, and for how we’ve been able to touch each other’s life at specific times. I have such fond memories of Carl and how he was always interested in others, not focusing on himself. I appreciate ministering with you two from time to time, and want you and your family to know that I will be praying for you. Be reminded that the Word of God will provide you the most comfort. He will always be available to you and His words are powerful. Blessings.

  18. Anne McKnight says:

Carl was such a wonderful, loving, and kind man. I’ll never forget what a huge influence he had on my two boys when they were growing up in the youth department at College Heights Baptist Church. Carl never ever judged them…he loved my boys and they knew it. He was tolerant, he provided them with wise counsel, and at the same time he was fun-loving and never “stuffy.” He was very serious about his Christianity but at the same time he knew how to make Christianity fun!! He gave my boys guidance in their walk with God, but had fun with them at the same time. Just the other day my youngest was remembering and sharing with me what Carl meant in his life and what a huge influence he was on him. Pat, I’m so sorry for your loss and will continue praying for you and your precious family. I love you all!

  19. Debbie (Lindemann) Fann (Zboja's daughter) says:

I remember the good ole days of playing softball for College Heights B.C. Carl was a great coach and a wonderful person to be around. He was very instrumental in keeping us in line. He loved the game and help to lead us to VICTORY in many ways! He was truly a blessing! Warmest Regards, Debbie Fann
