CHRISTIANSEN, Allan Bob, Age 85 of Nashville, TN. Was born November 22, 1923. Preceded in death by parents, Clara A. and Ernest J. Christiansen, sister Carol C. Durkee, daughter, Jean Farris and first wife, Wilma White. Survived by wife, Judy; daughter, Winnie David Blesh, Grandsons, Tracey Lindy and Brian Cora Farris; step-children, Wayne Pat Potter, Teresa Ellithorpe, David Amy Potter; grandchildren, Stephanie Thomas Klutts, Amanda Don Graves, Kim and Rachel Ellithorpe, Elijah, Hannah and Evan Potter; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Amelia, Alicia and Regan Farris, Nathan and Sarah Klutts, Michael Potter; and all of GanGan's extended family. A graduate from Clinton High School Iowa in 1941, Bob volunteered for United States Army Air Force after graduation. During his service duty, he went from aircraft mechanic and moved through the ranks to Mechanic's Instructor until his discharge in 1945. While growing up during the Great Depression of the 30's, Bob always looked for a better life for his family. He became a postal carrier for the United States Post Office on April 2, 1947. His time with the postal office started at Nashville's west station before moving to the main downtown office where he spent 15 years before retiring as a Supervisor from the Belle Meade office in 1978 after 32 years of outstanding service. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or the Gideons. The funeral service will be at 10 am, Monday, August 24, 2009 at West Harpeth Funeral Home. Interment at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
