I remember meeting Orion at my first LOH meeting, soft spoken with a keen sense of humor. He was such a help to me as a part of the LOH unit during my year as Commander and also for being the greatest Program Chairman in the history of the Hendersonville Shrine Club. Whenever there was any difficulty providing programs for a monthly meeting Orion would share pictures and stories of his many world travels and adventures. Adele, my wife got to know Orion and Betty as she worked at the Hendersonville Library and their involvement in the reading programs. Oh how we all will miss Orion, he was truly a brother and a friend.

Orion and Betty were great neighbors for 15 years. He loved to climb on his John Deere and cut the lawn every three or four days and make the neighbors yards look bad, just kidding. Spent many a time chatting over the fence. Great man and great lady. They were so good to our kids growing up and would come over for cake and ice cream on parties. Just like family. Will miss him a lot and miss the phone calls. Our family has been blessed having his friendship. Well done Orion.

We just found out of Orion’s passing. My kids and I were reminiscing about Orion and Betty last week after reading the beautiful article about them in the newspaper. We enjoyed having them as neighbors for many years. Orion was such a wealth of knowledge on many subjects. He was also such a kind man. Our prayers go out to Betty and the rest of the family.

WE were neighbors of Mr Dickson and his wife for many years. He was always very interesting and knowledgable to talk to. We feel fortunate to have known him and his wife. We have missed them very much since they move several years ago. All of us loved them very much. Mr Dickson made sure that the new buyers of their house were upstanding and they are. Rest in peace Mr Dickson. We all love you.
