DORRIS, Elizabeth Ann – Age 77, of Hendersonville, TN went to be with the Lord on August 23, 2012 at home. She was born September 22, 1934 in Valentine, NE. She was a generous soul with a gift for giving to others. Her greatest joy was to share in life's journey with her loving husband, her daughters, and their husbands, her son and his wife, and her caring family. She enjoyed listening to book tapes, decorating, watching Masterpiece Theater such as Old Sherlock Holmes and Inspector Periot and making a beautiful and loving home for her family. She was a Nebraska woman that never lost her taste for a great piece of steak. She was a faith based woman that loved her Lord, Jesus Christ. Mom was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who was greatly loved by her family. Preceded in death by her parents, Curtis E. and Esther Young; brother, Curtis H. "Cork" Young; daughter, Kathy Watts. Survived by her loving husband, Ted Dorris; adoring three daughters, Glynis Mueller Tom of Potter, NE, Terri Dodds-LaClaire Russ of Georgetown, TX and Vicki Chaney Ken of San Antonio, TX; son, Jim Dodds Deb of Omaha, NE; four granddaughters, Ashley Hannant Justin, Arren Connot, Breanne Giguere Anthony and Jessica Sanders Noah; grandson, Jesse Mueller; three great-grandchildren. A Life Celebration will be held 12pm Tuesday August 28, 2012 at Hendersonville Funeral Home. The family respectfully suggests memorials in Elizabeth's honor be made to The Humane Society of Sumner County.
