Ms. Edna E. Barnes, 72, of Nashville, passed away on January 18 at Skyline Medical Center. She was born on March 23, 1943 to the late John Henry and Vesa Lee Jackson.
Ms. Edna, known as “Dirty Sally” to her family or “Earl the Squirrel;” will always be remembered as a “fixer”. She loved going to yard sales to find things she could fix up. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she never missed a Sunday dinner with her family. Her special friend, Art Harris, ran a close second with her grandkids. Ms. Edna never met a stranger. She always went out of her way to take care of everyone, whether they were family or not. If you visited her at home, she would also offer you a cup of coffee. Ms. Edna will always be remembered as a loving mom, grandmother, and sister. She will be truly missed.
She is survived by her life friend, Art Harris; her children, Robert McCormick (Richard McKinney), James M.B. McCormick, Deborah Duff, James B. McCormick (Mary Escue), and Joni Brown; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; four sisters; and two brothers.
