Jerry Wayne Talbert, age 70 of Springfield passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
He was born to the late George and Mary E. Talbert in Greenbrier and worked for many years loading trucks full of fertilizer until he retired. He was a member of Red River Assembly of God and loved fishing at Port Royal, dancing his “chicken dance” at the Senior Citizen Center in Springfield and later in Guthrie, KY with Marge. Nell and Jerry enjoyed many mornings drinking coffee and eating biscuits and gravy.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Talbert, Billy Talbert and Bobby Talbert and sisters, Joyce Mink and Gara Farmer.
He is survived by his partner of 14 years, Marge Cobb of Springfield; and sisters, Nell Rawls of Springfield and Jody Long of Kentucky.
A Graveside Service will be held at 12pm on Wednesday, January 2, 2018 at Springfield Funeral Home with Brother Wayne Ralph officiating. Burial will be at Springfield Memorial Gardens with Timo Johnson, Kenny Rawls, Jr, Steven Rawls, James Rawls, James Rawls, Jr. and Dave Wieczorek serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be from 11am until the time of service.
