Javagold,My friend, you do know what a ponzi scmhee is, but you do not understand the fundamental difference between a ponzi scmhee and a pension. I know that you probably starting hearing what a Ponzi scmhee was when Madoff was busted and you are delighted to use that new vocabulary word. However, let me explain the difference between a Ponzi scmhee and the State pension, and why you are wrong (again.).A Ponzi scmhee only relies on the contributions of the new blood to pay for the old blood, which is where you are correct. Usually, the person who is running the Ponzi scmhee is taking some of the money off the top to live an exorbitant lifestyle. On the other hand, the pension not only relies on the contributions of its member and the State, but they also invest the money to create money. That is the key difference that there is the investment aspect of it. If the pension did not invest the money, then you would be correct, but sadly you are wrong again. By your definition, every mutual fund in America is a Ponzi scmhee, even your 401(k). Java, I know contract law is a bit difficult for you to understand, however you should be happy there is contract law since it protects you as well. If you have a 401(k), 403(b), or a 457(B) plan, contract law protects you from your employer taking away the money you have placed in it or they have contributed to it once you have vested. Without that they could rob you. I know you are angry, but you must work within the law to effect change.
