I grew up in West Nashville. Mrs. McCool was my Girl Scout leader for most of my elementry and middle school years. Some of my greatest Middle School memories involve her. From weekend trips, to going to Channel 4 for the Midday Show. Baking cookies at her house, Christmas caroling I wish people still did that to selling GS Cookies. I grew up in a home that had it’s own little secret. My father was an alcholic, not that anyone in our community would have ever known that from the outside looking in. Girl Scouts and Mrs. McCool were my escape from home and in a large part the reason I am the person that I am today.
I know Mrs. McCool will be missed by your family and our community has also suffered a great loss. May you find comfort in knowing that she touched many lives with such an impact that she remains foundly in our hearts some 30 years later.

Mrs.McCool was my high school best friend “Mary Jane”‘s Mother. She truly touched my life since I was at her house many times through my teenage years. I love the McCool’s and have been blessed to know her and her wonderful family. I know that God has welcomed her with open-arms. We will all treasure our memories of her and the guidance that she provided to us.GOD BLESS, Mr.McCool and his family.
