COWART, Myrick (Mike) Ronald Jr. – Age 43 of Hendersonville. Myrick was born Sept. 4, 1970 in Nashville, TN, to Myrick (Mike) Ronald Cowart Sr. and Laura Esther Cowart. Myrick was talented creatively from a very early age and that creativity led him to a career as a worship leader and songwriter in various churches in the early years of his career. During the last ten years of his career, he was a professional photographer, beautifully capturing life’s most special moments for families and friends. He was so proud and excited to launch his gorgeous new website just last week. Please take a moment to browse his work at He would love for you to see it.
Even more so, Myrick was most known for creating extraordinary moments for everyone who knew him. With his irresistible smile and his unmistakable laugh, Mike had the ability to turn the most mundane or dismal situation into a party where everyone was smiling and everyone knew that it would all be okay. Myrick was a very generous spirit, often traveling to foreign countries on mission trips and giving his time, service and support to causes he believed in.
Myrick was also an excellent father to his son Noah and his daughter Reese. He deeply loved his children and he was always present in their lives, constantly giving them love, encouragement, affection, and direction. He was proud of his whole family, and he was especially proud of his two children.
Myrick was an incredible man, husband, father, son, brother, musician, and photographer. He is survived by his parents, Mike and Esther Cowart of Hendersonville; his son, Noah Cowart and his daughter, Reese; his first wife and the mother of their children, Penny Cowart Simms; his brother, Benji Cowart and wife Jenna of Franklin, TN; his brother, Jeremy Cowart and wife Shannon of Brentwood, TN; and multiple nephews and nieces…

    We have lost and remarkable man. Mike always led us to the feet of Jesus every time he led us into worship at Belmont Rivers. He was a Friend like no other. He impacted so many lives in his life. We are so glad we got to know him. He was a blessing our lives. We pray peace for Penny, Noah, Reese, Benji, Jeremy, Mom and Dad as well as other family members. May the God of Grace grant you comfort in your time of need. “Even if I fall, He will lift me up”

    Gary and I are so sorry for your loss. Even though we hadn’t been in the same circles for some time, we have very fond memories of our days with him on worship team at “Rivers” as we sang, played and Worship together. We enjoyed those days of great fun and fellowship. He was ALWAYS contagiously smiling or laughing and lifting spirits around him. I can imagine him now “Dancing Like David Danced”. We are deeply saddened by this loss and will keep you, the family, in our thoughts and prayers.

    To the Cowart Family;

    It was our blessing to have had a brief but memorable experience with Mike. We were fortunate to have met him through our mutual friend Ed Lamberg who could not say enough about his talents as a photographer but mostly of the generous and kind person that he was. Upon our meeting him to have some of the best photos we have had taken, we learned of our connection with one another through his brother Benji and sister in law Jenna who we used to attend church with years ago.

    March 6th was a very sad day for our family as well since we buried our beloved Patricia Amato. Our hearts are broken for your loss as well as ours. We pray for comfort, peace and all of God’s unending grace for the entire family.

    May the Lord bless and keep you,
    Barry and Dari Anne Amato
