OAKES, C. Wayne, age 66, Nashville. A member of Bellevue Church of Christ, The Shriners, Temple Hills Golf Club and was on the Board of Mercy Homes. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Norma Oakes; daughter, Melia Michael Clark; granddaughter, Maranda Rae Clark; brothers, Lewis, Doug Dorothy, Dr. Gary Donna and Roger Becky Oakes; he is also survived by his beloved dog, Prissy. The funeral service will be 12 Noon, Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Bellevue Church of Christ Bus Fund, 7401 Hwy 70 South, Nashville, TN 37221 or Church of Christ Disaster Relief, 410 Allied Dr. Nashville, TN 37221.     Both Wayne and yourself have been amazing friends to us and my parents for many years. I will always remember and be forever grateful to you both. Wayne will be missed by Rick and I and by Dad. I know Dad will miss his weekly lunch dates with Wayne at Dalton’s. Wayne was so kind to to come by and pick him up each time they went since his stroke.
