Vanessa Lynn Holland, age 59 of Springfield and formally of Orlinda, passed away on June 20, 2019.

She was born on June 4, 1960 in Franklin, KY, to the late Robert Earl Crossfield and Mary Ann Gregory Hester. She worked for many years at Dollar General in Springfield.

Vanessa was described as a strong and courageous woman. She loved all types of music and loved playing card with her friends. You could find her in the summer fishing on the creek with her boys or square dancing in Orlinda with her daughter. Her daughter, Rachel, remembered, “It was never goodbye, it was “I’ll see you later,” and when the boys would leave, she would tell them, "watch that rabbit." Which was passed down from her brother.

She was always there for others, even through her struggles. She was a giver to anyone that needed a hug or someone to listen. Vanessa was a resilient woman that loved her family.

She will forever be remembered sitting with her family telling stories and enjoying the sound of laughter and love surrounding her.

In addition to her parents, Vanessa is preceded in death by her brother, Michael “Hot Rod” Crossfield and sister Tracey Crossfield.

She is survived by her children, Rachel (Thomas) Williams, Joshua Holland and Dusty Holland; grandchildren, Lexie Davis, Landon Williams, Bentley Cole and Patiense Wilson; great-grandson, Kaden Hopper; and siblings, Roberta Calvert, Dana Wade, Lori Crossfield, Niki Crossfield, and Becky Taylor.

A Life Celebration will be held on Tuesday, June 25th at 6pm in the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4-6pm.
