Vivian M. Poteete, age 61 of Cedar Hill, passed away on January 13, 2016 at NorthCrest Medical Center.
Mrs. Poteete was born on May 13, 1954 to the late Lloyd and Lenora Morris in San Antonio, Texas
Many described Mrs. Poteete as a loving and caring person, who loved to cook and spend time with her family. Some of her favorite recipes were spaghetti salad, stuffed cabbage and Schnitzel, which she learned how to cook while in Germany with her husband.
She had a passion for spending time with her family during Thanksgiving Dinner and especially during Christmas. It was her favorite time of year for she celebrated their wedding anniversary on December 22nd, right before Christmas. Mrs. Poteete will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt.
Mrs. Poteete is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years Michael R. Poteete; their children Michelle Poteete, Matthew Poteete, Richard Poteete, and adopted step-daughter, Karen McPherson; her siblings Ricky, Loretta, Rhonda, Sherill and Michael; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Life Celebration will be held on January 16, 2016 at 2 pm with Brother Steve Pendley officiating, burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens. Family and Friends will be serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 15th, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., then again on Saturday from 10 until the time of service.
