William “Bill” Myron Greer-age 86 was born July 2, 1927 and passed away April 8, 2014. Bill served in the Navy during WWII. After his time in the service he went to work for the Western Electric Division of AT&T as a supervisor, retiring after 37 years. He was a man of faith and attended the Hendersonville First United Methodist Church for more than 27 years. Bill was an avid golfer and travelled all over the country with his friends to play. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed. He leaves behind many loved ones, both family and friends, with great memories.
Preceded in death by mother, Jessie Edna Greer; Father, Sam Greer; 1st wife, Frances Smith Greer; Son, Charlie Greer; 2nd wife, Robbie Foster Greer; step-daughter Melody Alexander; Sister, Martha House; Brother-Richard Greer. Thankful for the many wonderful years they had together – Bill will be missed by Son, David (Cyndi) Greer; Daughter, Dianne (Alex) Teague; Step-Daughter, Joy (Dwight) Dixon; Step-Son-In-Law, Ed Alexander. Grandchildren: Caitlin Greer, Olivia Teague and Austin Teague; Step-Grandchildren: Brynn (Matt)Curtis, Drew (Gina) Dixon, Cass Dixon, Will Alexander and Mitch Alexander; and two step-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers: Gary Pride, Jimmy Gilbert, Dwight Dixon and Chip Holder.
Honorary Pallbearers: Fig Newton, Bob Foster and Jimmy Edwards.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Monday at 1p.m in the chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00pm-5:30pm and on Monday from 12:00pm-1:00pm at HENDERSONVILLE FUNERAL HOME 353 Johnny Cash Pkwy Hendersonville, TN 37075 (615) 824-3855 springfieldfh.wpengine.com.

    Bill Greer was a wonderful father and man. I have the greatest respect for him. He had integrety and honor. A wonderful Christian man. I am thankful to know him.

    He was my uncle and a man I admired and loved. He was devoted to his family and he will be greatly missed. I am glad he was a part of my life.

    Bill was one of my special cousins who lived in Tennessee. Some of my most memorable times as a child were spent with him. I’m sorry we are unable to be there to express our sympathy to Dianne, David and families. We loved him.
