  1. Bob & Margie Dunlop says:

Dear Paula & BJ. We rejoice in Billy’s Homegoing but know there will be an empty place in your hearts. He was a special guy. We had him in Churches where I pastored many times and always enjoyed his singing through which he ministered to people. His love of life and humor will always be remembered. I only wish I could be there at the funeral service. I knew Wendell Calder would be the special one to minister and I am sure the Gospel will be presented and there will be a message to you and all others through this good servant of the Lord. God bless you Paula & BJ and give you grace and strength for these days. By the way, Margie was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia in 2005. She has her struggles and so do I but she is still with me. She is not the same as before but I love her and will take care of her as long as possible. You have been so faithful to Billy. God bless you.

Praying for you all! I loved going to camp living waters when I was younger and Billy and Eddie Piper were the musicians. One of my favorites he used to sing is God’s not finished with me yet. He will be missed by lots of people. Heaven must be sounding even more beautiful with his lovely voice joining God’s choir. You all are very special to our family.

  8. Carolyn Henderson says:

Thinking of you all at such a difficult time. Even though we know where our loved one is, there is lonely times on this side of the curtain of life.

Billy was in our home and church so many times over the years and always enjoy his singing and the special time in the visits. But, as billy would show the kids some of his crazy skits, my hard time was getting our oldest son to stop mimicking billy at times that were embarrassing for me. ☹️? But, those were good memories.

My heart and prayers are with you. My husband had dementia with levy bodies also. It is a very hard process to watch, but so thankful to the Lord for the promise of His presence when we graduate from this life. No greater gift!

  9. Jenni and Marco Gudino says:

Billy will always be remembered by us for his big heart and amazing voice and ministry. Our daughter, when younger, would refer to him as the “Redeemed Man” since she loved listening to him sing Redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb on the Hymns CD we had. He took time to show Marco the right way to take care of speaker and microphone cords as to not damage them, something that has been a blessing to know in the ministry and we think of him every time he puts the cords away….We love you BJ and Paula and continue to pray for you!! Billy’s ministry will continue to bless and reach people for many, many years and we can’t wait to hear him sing again in heaven!!…Love, hugs and prayers!!

  10. Pat and Ray Bemis says:

  12. Donna Hogard says:

I have many wonderful memories of my time spent with Billy! I first met him on a cruise when BJ finally introduced us. My husband and I were (and still are) avid followers of the Dartts. I crossed paths with Billy and Paula several times over the next few years. One of my favorite memories was a car trip we took with Billy, Paula, BJ and Stoney to Bar Harbor, ME. Billy was so funny that day!! I laughed so hard that I cried! We ate lobster and wondered around, enjoying the beautiful scenery. Another great memory is a song that we sang together (in fun)! I am from Texas, so one day he started singing “I’m a Long, Tall Texan”. He would sing “Well I’m a long, tall Texan. I wear a ten gallon hat.” I would echo ” He rides from Texas wearin’ a ten gallon hat.” Then he would sing, “And people look at me and say… Urah, Urah is that your hat?!!” The song that reminds me most of Billy is “His Eye is on the Sparrow”. He put so much emotion into that song! He will be greatly missed by all of us, but there is no doubt that we will be rejoicing with him in heaven one day!!!

  13. Roger and Sue McIver says:

  15. Marleen Shaver says:

We had Billy and family in our home for Sunday dinner and as we were all sitting around the table eating, laughing and enjoying each other’s company I looked over at Billy and he asked me if I thought he could bend the fork. Well being a bit shocked at the question and not knowing what to say I just kinda smiled as I watched what looked like my fork being bent and wanted to yell Noooooo!!!!! Then he laughed as well as everyone else, including me. It was a trick where it looked like he actually bent it but didn’t. We also enjoyed many concerts at Montrose Bible Conference. We will miss you Billy! We love you Paula and B.J. Praying for you!

Paula–you and Billy were a big part of my childhood. I loved the Sunday concerts at Living Waters, and my favorite times were when Billy would end with a big anthem like “God Gave the Song” or “He’s Alive”. I listen to a lot of music, and Billy had better command of his voice than any other singer I’ve heard. I was glad that Mike and Billy became friends as we started coming to camp in the summers. BJ–your dad was and still is so very proud of you. Keep the faith. Never lose that sense of humor that he gifted you! Hope to see you both next summer. Love and prayers to everyone.

Joel was remembering the last time you all were at River of Life Bible Camp and Billy was complaining about the “black flies”. Thankfully there are none in heaven!

I have such wonderful memories of Billy. From your lovely wedding at North Road Baptist Church on Campobello, New Brunswick and the dozens of times we had opportunity to fellowship – what a treat and blessing to know Billy and his special lady/wife and friend Paula. I have been richly blessed through your recordings on records/CDs. Many times we laughed and ate together and shared ministry stories. I have been amazed how you all have shown God’s sustaining grace during the last few years of sickness. You have been a wonderful testimony during all of this. The trials have not made you bitter or sour – you are a blessing. Paula , you hold a special place in our hearts and prayers to God. BJ, what a wonderful son you are ! May God bless you abundantly for all the love and support you have been to your Mom and Dad.

  44. Mark and Luella Bredin says:

Dear Paula and BJ-oh the happy, special memories we have of Billy-his huge smile, big voice, wonderful songs and stories. These past few years have been difficult ones of wondering why Billy’s ministry was cut short. Cut short? Who knows but God. He never discards His children-He never plans/allows, how do we know the difference?-anything for His children that means nothing. So, something has been going on-something good because God is good, something we have absolutely no complete idea of-but, though we weep-it is for a short time. But, for Billy!! No regrets-imagine him today-not an ache, a pain, a confusion of any kind-just pure joy-and a precious voice added to the glory of his precious Saviour. We love you all-such good, long time friends-one day we will all be together with the Lord!

  45. Pat Dyal says:

Billy will always have a special place in our hearts. We thank God for the years of friendship and we cherish the fun times together as well as those moments of sharing our hearts over the years. His contagious love for God and people and his ministry through music and the word will continue impacting lives. You and BJ know how much we care that your grief is intense; will continue to pray for God’s comfort and grace to see you through these difficult days…He is always faithful to do so as you know.

  47. Dr. E. Paul Emery says:

    Dear Paula & BJ,

You are in our hearts and our prayers. May God richly bless the wonderful memories each of us have of Billy, for he lived a life that blessed others. “The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever…” (Deut. 29:29).

    Dr. Paul & Joan Emery
    Calais, ME

  48. Forrest and Sabrina Dartt, and Nolan says:

What a great relief to know this isn’t goodbye. One of my favorite things to think about our real life in Heaven: What will our new bodies look like? The ageless, weightless, scar-free, optimum body to match the original soul created in the Father’s image. I know we will recognize our loved ones there, but I am also quite sure we will be stunned by the difference in appearance. Man looks at the outer facade, but our Lord sees the inner man, the heart. Billy lived his life led by the heart of God, and I can’t wait to see him the way God has seen him all along. May God use us all to bless Paula and BJ until that glad reunion day!

He was on a CB trying to get directions and I helped him out. This would have been somewhere around 1995 or 1996. I can remember he told me if he would have had a CB handle it would have been mashed potatoes cuz he love eat them. 54. Marousa Placiotis Rodriguez and Catherine Placiotis says:

My Mom and I remember Billy When he came to your church, First Baptist Church in Trenton NJ. It was 1971. He sang and gave a message. My mom was 37, and she went forward and accepted Jesus that day right then. I was 9 years old and watched all of this transpire and it had an impression on me. I also decided to follow Christ in baptism some years later. It was the beginning of following Christ for our whole family. We thank God for Billy’s ministry and the legacy he left behind. Praise God for a life well lived in servanthood!
