Betty Jean Elmore, a beloved member of the community, passed away on February 15, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. She was born on March 26, 1937, in the Owens Chapel Community. Throughout her life, Betty embodied the values of compassion and selflessness, touching the lives of those around her in profound ways.

Betty was a graduate of East Robertson High School. While education played an important role in her life, it was her dedication to her family that truly defined her. She took great pride in caring for her loved ones and creating a warm and nurturing home. Betty's proudest accomplishments were the strong bonds she forged with her children and grandchildren.

A woman of many talents and interests, Betty found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had an undeniable green thumb and spent countless hours working in her yard, tending to the vibrant array of flowers that adorned her property. Riding on her lawn mower brought her a sense of freedom and tranquility that she cherished.

In addition to her love for gardening, Betty derived immense pleasure from taking care of her family. Her unwavering commitment to their well-being was evident in every gesture she made. Whether it was preparing delicious meals or offering a listening ear during times of need, Betty's loving presence brought comfort to all who knew her.

Surrounded by the vibrant colors of nature that she adored so much, family and friends will gather to remember Betty Jean Elmore at Springfield Memorial Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center on March 2nd, 2024. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM.

Betty leaves behind a precious legacy that will forever be cherished by her daughter Lisa (Larry) DuRard, son Kenneth Eugene (Teresa) Threatt, granddaughters Lillian Elizabeth DuRard, Courtney Nicole (Kyle) Rader, and Charleigh Catherine. Her memory will also be carried by her siblings Bill (Juanita) Chowning, Linda (Wilburn) Beal, and Jimmy Chowning.

In her final moments, Betty was reunited with her parents Robert and Velma Chowning. She is also preceded in death by her husbands Hallie Eugene "Gene" Threatt and Billy Elmore, as well as her siblings Bobby Chowning, Jerry Chowning, and Donnie Chowning. Their spirits now guide her on a new journey of peace.

Betty Jean Elmore will be remembered for the love she showered upon her family, the kindness she extended to all those around her, and the beauty she brought into the world through her cherished flowers. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
