Donald E. Manners, Sr. age 79 of Greenbrier, passed away at his home on June 26, 2019.
He was born on October 27, 1939, to the late Harry Joseph and Anna Anderson Manners in Nashville, Tennessee. He graduated from Goodlettsville High Scholl in 1958. He joined the United States Army in 1958 after graduating from high school. He served two years of active service and four years in the Army Reserves. Donald worked as a delivery man for Unifirst and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and Greenbrier Masonic Lodge #753 F&AM. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, Tennessee Titans Football, and collecting knives.
He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Yvonne Manners; sons, Donnie (Shelia) Manners, Rickie Manners, and Joseph Manners; grandsons, Mark Manners, and Keenan Manners and great-grandson, Phoenix Manners.
A Life Celebration will be held on Saturday, June 29th at 11 am with Brother Brandon Pugh officiating in the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Springfield Memorial Gardens with Military Honors and Donnie Manners, Rickie Manners, Mark Manners, Keenan Manners, Gary Dean and Steve Wilson serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 28th, from 5-8pm at the funeral home with a Masonic Service at 7pm.
