Dora Ann Farmer, 82, of Springfield, passed away peacefully at her home February 25th.
She was born March 26, 1938 in Big Rock, TN, the daughter of Byron L. Cherry and Mary Etha Smith Cherry. She is survived by her husband, Joe M. Farmer and her sons, John S farmer and Byron L Farmer (Sarah). She is also survived by her two granddaughters, Devon Farmer and Ella Grace Farmer.
Ms. Dody was the oldest of seven and is also survived by five brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews. Professionally she was a graduate of St. Thomas Nursing School 1958 and served numerous hospitals and nursing homes throughout her career. Ms. Dody was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Springfield for well over forty years serving her church with active participation on many committees and activities. As a RN she also served the Methodist conference on several church mission trips over the years. She will miss, and be missed by her church family as well. The family asks that any gifts in her memory be bestowed to First United Methodist Church of Springfield.
