STUART- Doris Beckwith- departed this world surrounded by the love and comfort of her family on Friday, February 22, 2013, in Nashville, TN. She was born in 1923 in Warren, PA to Ruth Weiler and Ernest Garfield Beckwith. Doris is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert James Stuart; her daughters, Rebecca William Rochford and Deborah Steven Pipes of Nashville and Caroline Stuart of Sinking Spring, PA; her four grandchildren, Sarah Rochford, Anne Rochford, Robert Rochford and Henry Pipes; and her brother Elwood Margie Beckwith of College Park, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Marian Huck, of Warren, PA and Jean Cobley of Baltimore, MD. Doris enjoyed reading, sewing, golfing, cooking and playing bridge. She was raised in Russell, PA, and lived much of her life in Pittsburgh, PA and Southfield, MI before moving to Nashville to be close to her daughters and grandchildren. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved life. Above all she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and confidant. A memorial service will be celebrated Saturday, March 2 at 2:00 p.m. at Bellevue Presbyterian Church. Her family will greet guests after the service. She will be interred during a private ceremony at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, Doris and her family request that gifts in her memory be made to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203 or Friends of Warner Parks, 50 Vaughn Rd., Nashville, TN 37221.
