Dorothy Mae Wilson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Born on December 21, 1931, in Springfield, Tennessee, Dorothy was a long resident of the community where she forged deep connections and cherished relationships.

She devoted herself to her family and took great pride in growing her family, ensuring that they always felt loved and supported. Her cherished memories include spending precious time with her grandchildren who brought immense joy and laughter to her life, feeding the squirrels, watching the cardinals and looking at flowers from her back porch everyday, and always enjoying a cold glass of sweet tea or CocaCola with her McDonald nuggets and fries.

Dorothy was also a faithful member of the Church of Christ, a reflection of her deep love for her Lord, which guided her daily actions and interactions. She will be remembered for her warmth, her caring nature, and the way she touched the lives of everyone she met, especially since she never met a stranger.

Smorto; her granddaughters, Alyssa (Kevin) Hadd, Lindsey Wilson, and Megan McCoy; her grandsons, Matt McCoy, Andrew McCoy, Joseph Smorto, and Zach Smorto; her great-grandsons, Will Hadd and Lane McCoy; and her sister, Frances Ford.

She is reunited in spirit with her deceased husband, Carl S. Wilson; her son, Don Wilson; her daughter, Mitzi Wilson; her grandson, Joel Wilson; her parents, Alice and John Fort; her brother, Johnny Fort; and her sisters, Virginia James and Marie Heatherly.
