Earl Gossett Lett

February 15, 1932 — August 1, 2025

Adairville, KY

Earl Gossett Lett, a cherished husband, father, paw paw and friend, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, at the age of 93 in Springfield, Tennessee. Born on February 15, 1932, in Adairville, Kentucky to the late Drury and Carrie Lett, Earl led a life that exemplified devotion to family, faith, and service.

For 27 years, Earl worked diligently as a Welding Supervisor at Unarco, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. However, his true passion extended beyond his career; Earl volunteered extensively with the Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief of Kentucky, traveling wherever he felt called. His dedication to service was an enduring aspect of his life that resonated with all who knew him.

Earl’s spiritual journey began early in life, having attended New Hope Baptist Church from the tender age of two. This lifelong connection fostered a deep sense of community and belonging that lasted for 90 years. He was baptized in 1947 and remained a steadfast presence in the church, along with serving many years as a deacon, sharing his wisdom and kindness with everyone he encountered. Earl's quiet, reserved nature belied the warm heart within, and he brought a smile to those around him, always offering wisdom and kindness.

Earl cherished his family above all else. He was married to the love of his life, Ann Moore Lett, for an incredible 73 years. Their relationship was marked by love, laughter, and a shared joy for life. Earl often remarked that he would walk a mile just to see Ann smile, a testament to the profound bond that they shared. Together, they nurtured a family that flourished with love. Earl took great pride in his children, Brad Lett and Sharon Head, as well as his grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Emerson, Ashley Lett, and Caleb Head, who brought him immense joy. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Ethan Emerson, who held a special place in his heart.

Earl is preceded in death by his parents, Drury and Carrie Lett; his brother, James Lett; and his son-in-law, Mark Head and daughter-in-law, Doris Lett. While he is deeply missed by his surviving family, the love and memories they shared will keep his spirit alive in their hearts.

Visitation for Earl will take place at Springfield Memorial Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Springfield, Tennessee, on August 5, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again at New Hope Baptist Church in Adairville, Kentucky, on August 6, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
