Ellen Burchfield

BURCHFIELD, Ellen Marie – Age 55 of Gallatin passed away May 18, 2013. Ellen was a woman of faith who was a member of Our Lady of the Lake. In her younger years she was in the Air National Guard and thrilled to be able to serve in her father's unit. She was also a flight attendant for American Airlines, which is how she met her adoring husband and who always said "It was truly love at first sight". She was a great woman that adored her children and cherished her husband. She spent many years being a great hockey mom to her three sons. She loved ballroom dancing, cooking and was a loyal Ohio State Buckeye Fan. She was a very artistic person with a tenacious personality and was loved by everyone who met her. She was a beautiful woman on the outside as well as the inside. She was truly a gentile spirit. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Phaenon Skeen Dickey. She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Dr. Daniel Burchfield; sons, Jon Daniel, William Garrett and Jacob Stratton; father, Colonel William Donald Easley Karin; mother, Diane Virginia Easley; sister, Terri Lavelle David; aunt, Mary Ellen Rentz; A life celebration service will be held on Friday at 2pm at Hendersonville First United Methodist Church with Brother Ben Alexander officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-8pm at the funeral home and on friday from 1-2pm at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Sarah Cannon Fund www.sarahcannonfund.org or by donating a fruit tree to be planted in her memory in a orchard on her farm.
