Enoch Byrns Sneed age 87, of Springfield passed away on December 23, 2017 at NHC in Springfield surrounded by his family.

He was born on August 28, 1930 to the late Robert Enoch "R.E." and Fredie Garrell Sneed of Barren Plains, Tennessee. At a young age Mr. Sneed started as a water boy for the Electric Department and moved up to helping the crews fill in holes from setting poles. The Springfield Electric Department would hire Mr. Sneed and he would work for the next 43 years retiring as the Manager.

He married the love of his life Frances Minnis on November 5, 1954. They would raise four boys, Edward, Michael, Robert and Jeffery Alan instilling in them the importance of hard work and family. They enjoyed spending time at Kentucky Lake fishing and going on the occasional hunting trip. They started like most families with a tent and worked their way up to a trailer on the lake.

Mr. Sneed not only had a passion for fishing but also for woodworking. His family recalls that he made almost everything in the garage on Blackpatch Drive. He would also make benches, toy boxes, and shelves that he would give to his family. Continuing the family traditions, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren have many memories at the lake and handcrafted items they will cherish.

Mr. Sneed was a hard worker, avid fisherman and craftsman, but most of all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be sadly missed by his family and lifetime friend and fishing partner Charles Starks.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Sneed is preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Alan Sneed and sister, Judith Mitchell.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Frances Minnis Sneed; sons, Edward Lee Bagwell, Michael Byrns (Julie) Sneed and Robert Owen (Stacy) Sneed; grandchildren, Leanne (Scott) Hubbard, Michael (Maggie) Sneed, Jessica (Chris) Hollingsworth, Justin (Tyra ) Palmer, Elizabeth Sneed, Hannah Sneed, Olivia (Miguel) Reveria, Zachary Sneed, Jeremy Sneed, Cassie Sneed and Ashley Ogg; great-grandchildren, Adam Hubbard, Anna Beth Hubbard, Andrew Hubbard, Kelton Hollingsworth, Kamden Hollingsworth, Oakley Hollingsworth, Knox Palmer and Beau Palmer.

A Life Celebration will be held on December 27th at 2pm with Bro. Adam Hodges officiating. Entombment will follow at Springfield Memorial Gardens in the Chapel of Memories. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 27th from 12:00pm until the time of service.

These arrangements were entrusted to Springfield Memorial Gardens, Funeral Home and Cremation Center 4005 Memorial Blvd Springfield, TN 37172615-384-5437 www.springfieldfh.com
