Obituary

Herman Russell Wilson, age 84, of Springfield, Tennessee, passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Born on November 28, 1941, on the family farm on State Line Rd in Robertson County, Tennessee, Herman spent his entire life in the Springfield community he loved so dearly.

Herman was married to the love of his life, Georgia Wilson, for 38 wonderful years. Together they built a life centered around family, hard work, and simple joys.

Throughout his life, Herman worked at DuPont, farmed the land, and spent many years as a truck driver. No matter what job he held, he was known as one of the hardest working men around. Herman especially loved being outdoors. His yard was his pride and joy, and many knew you could find him outside even in 40-degree weather mowing the grass, working tobacco sticks, fertilizing, or making sure everything looked just right. He took great pride in keeping one of the prettiest yards in the neighborhood.

In their younger years you could always find Herman and Georgia dancing the night away on the weekends. Herman and Georgia were great at dancing the two step, they always made it look so easy!

Herman was also a gifted teacher in his own quiet way. He loved showing his nephew how to fix things, work with his hands, and build things from the ground up. He believed in hard work, sharing knowledge, and taking care of the people you love.

More than anything, Herman loved his family dearly. He leaves behind many treasured memories and a legacy of strength, kindness, and dedication.

Herman is survived by his loving wife, Georgia Wilson; his daughter, Julia Bennett and husband Mark Bennett; daughter in law Melissa Wilson; grandson Chance Williams and wife Amanda; his great-granddaughter Emma Williams and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Annie Wilson, his son, John Lee Wilson; his siblings Marie Harris, Dorothy (Dot) Jones, George Wilson, Gloria Wilson and Nancy Yates.

Herman will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but the lessons he taught, the love he gave, and the beautiful life he cultivated will continue to live on through his family for generations to come.

We would also like to say thank you to his best friend Steve, Melissa and Herman's sister in law Tammy Hisle for helping take care of Herman when he got sick!

Also a big thank you to Melissa for helping get the mowing done and Carlos and Debbie, Lannie and Terry for helping mow and do the hill and ditches! And all the family and neighbors who helped out with whatever was needed! We love and appreciate yall.
