Homer Morris
January 22, 1941 — April 2, 2018
Homer Ralph Morris, age 77 of Portland and formerly of Springfield, passed away on April 2, 2018 at Sumner Regional Medical Center.
He was born on January 22, 1941 at home in Robertson County the 5th child and youngest son of Ham Patterson and Mary Isabella Morris.
Mr. Morris was described as a loving man with a huge heart. A man who loved God, his family and others. He worked for many years as a truck driver and farmer, teaching his sons the importance of working hard and providing for their families. He made sure that not only his family was provided for, but also others.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Morris is preceded in death by his sisters Imogene Belt, Julia Ann Jones and brother Billy Clay Morris.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Morris; sons, Eric (Cecelia) Morris of Barren Plains, Tn, Ricky (Jenny) Morris of Portland, Tn and Troy Morris of Los Angeles, California ; grandchildren, Andrea Morris, Matthew Morris, Justin (August) Morris, Henry Morris, Kimber Morris, McKenzie Morris ,Rylie Morris and Teagan Morris; great-grandchildren, Ethan Collins, Candace Johnson, Blake Johnson, and Nolan Morris; and siblings, Ray (Becky) Morris, Jimmy Morris, Linda Ruth Robertson, and Sandra Kay (Steve) Stranger.
A Life Celebration will be held at 11am on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Springfield Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Ralph officiating. Burial will follow at Springfield Memorial Gardens with family serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 7th from 4-8pm then again on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
