James Howard Lee, age 78 of Greenbrier passed away on March 30, 2018 in Springfield.

He was born on January 28, 1940 to the late Alexander and Audrey Lee in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. After high school, Jimmy became a United State Marine. He served during the Vietnam War and was discharged having rose to the rank of Staff Sargent.

In 1988, fate shined down on Jimmy after moving to Nashville, he meet the women of his dreams through mutual friends. After a few years Jimmy asked Retha to marry him and in 1991 they were married in a small ceremony shared only to a few friends and family members.

Jimmy loved to have a good time. He was adventurous and really enjoyed dancing especially at his granddaughters wedding with his lovely wife. He believed in living life to the fullest and enjoying each day as it came. Many evening were spent with the VFW and American Legion brothers and sisters.

He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Jimmy is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Retha Lee; children, Nicole Parker and Blaine Lee; step-children, Theresa Buchanan and Bill Ryan and 6 grandchildren.

A Life Celebration and Military Honors will be held at 2:00pm on April 7, 2018 with Terry Wilson, Chaplin Joe Eden and Richard Lee officiating. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday from 12:00pm until the time of service.
