Jerry Wayne Pitt, age 75 of Cross Plains, passed away at his home on March 23, 2021.
He was born on August 6, 1946 in Cross Plains to the late William and Frances Pitt. Jerry's love for cars started at an early age helping his dad at Pitts Garage. He went on to work for Peterbilt for 30 years in the painting booth and running a tow motor. Jerry was a member of Cross Plains Church of Christ.
After his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Jigger was always a big jokester and loved reminiscing over the "old time". On beautiful days you could find him driving around the county in his truck or watching the horses play in the back fields.
Jerry will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and friend.
In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Goosetree.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Joyce Kiger Pitt; children, Scott Pitt, Carol Likens, Justin Pitt and Bobby (Cathy) Starks; grandchildren, Jesse Likens, Josh Likens and Kayla (Richard) Love; sister, Debbie (Gary) Phillips and great grandchildren, Grace and John Love.
A Life Celebration will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 2pm in the chapel of Springfield Funeral Home with Broth Franky Kirby officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday from 11am until the time of service at 2pm. Burial will be on Friday, March 26th at 2pm at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cross Plains.
