Josie Pastore Proctor age 77, passed away on September 22, 2019 at Main Street Assisted Living in Hendersonville, TN.

Josephine Mary Pastore Proctor was born on May 29, 1942 in Brooklynn, New York to the late Joseph Andrew and Rose Sgrano Pastore.

Josie was described as a loving woman always helping other. She drove a school bus for many years, but her favorite task was delivering chemotherapy treatments to those in need. She made many friends over the years as a driver that she still kept in contact many years later. She was known by many names "Josie, Jo's, Jose, Granny Jo and G-Jo" no matter what you called her, her love for you will always remain.

In addition to her parents, Josie is preceded in death by her husband Gene A. Steele, daughter in law, Nita Proctor and niece Deanna Micciulli Galante.

She is survived by her first love William C. "Bill" Proctor and their children, Wanda (Jody) Fuqua, William "Billy" Proctor and Ronald "Ronnie" (Anne) Proctor ; grandchildren, Josh Fuqua, Joel Fuqua, Amanda (Kyle) Bryant, Kristen Proctor, Nickolas Proctor, Katherine Proctor; great-grandchildren, Brooklen Fuqua and Rylee Bryant; siblings, Teresa (Dom) Vitale, Margaret Micciulli, Florence Ruhland and Susan (Eddie) Haddican.
A Life Celebration will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 5pm in the chapel of New Chapel United Methodist Church: 5016 TN-49 Springfield, TN 37172. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3pm until the time of service at the church.
