Julia Ann Walke age 69 of Springfield, passed away at her home on August 14, 2018.
She was born Julia Ann Hoerst on December 20, 1949 to the late William and Ruth Hoesrt in Chicago, Illinois. She worked for many years for the City of Norfolk, Virginia as an Accountant until she was able to retire.
Mrs. Walke loved spending time with Roy and "The Girls". She was described as a very sweet and caring lady. They enjoyed going out to Larry's and The Depot for dinner and watching shows like NCIS and Murder She Wrote. You could guarantee that when it came to Christmas she would have everything decorated just perfect with help from "Christmas Done Right."
She volunteered for over 15 years with Relay for Life and The American Cancer Society making strides again cancer. She was proud to be a three-year Cancer Survivor and was dedicated to her family and friends. Her hope was to make sure everyone knew how much she loved them and how much they were loved.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Walke is preceded in death by her two brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her partner of fourteen years Roy Brown; sisters, Susie Strine, Marcia Kirk, Clara Moore and Theresa "Curly" Spriggs; special niece, Carol Moore and numerous other nieces and nephews.
A Life Celebration will be held on Friday, September 7th at 6pm. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-6pm.
In Lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society 2000 Charlotte Ave, Nashville, TN 37203.
