Norma Jean Allgood, 81, passed away Wednesday July 28, 2021. Born in Clarksburg, TN she was the daughter of the late Homer Walter Taylor and Vadie Scott Taylor. Norma Jean was also preceded in death by a daughter, Vivian Charles. She had worked in banking for 43 years, starting with the former First American Bank. She retired as senior bank card rep for the merchant sales department at Regions Bank. Norma Jean was a true southern lady. She loved her community, friends and church. She was especially fond of the large family gatherings during Thanksgiving and Christmas. She loved to read, travel, her flowers and gardening. She was a member of the Greenbrier United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Howard E. Allgood; two sons, Britt E. Allgood (Karen) and Brian Corey Allgood (Alisha); two sisters, Lois Rich and Pat Hill (Donald); and three grandchildren, Wyatt, Morgan and Molly. Visitation will be held Monday at Springfield Funeral Home from 12 to 3 PM with a Life Celebration Service at 3 PM. Interment will follow at Springfield Memorial Gardens. Acting as active pallbearers will be Justin Hysler, Mark Tompkins, Ryan Pate, Corey Allgood, Dakota Hill and Britt Allgood. Honorary pallbearers will be Neil Palmer, Grant Palmer, Reed Palmer, Wyatt Allgood and Morgen Allgood.
