Norma Jean Peyton, age 82 of White House, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Sumner Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Peyton was born on February 17, 1939 to the late Elam and Gladys Lackey in Dickson, Tennessee. She worked for many years as a Nurse Technician at Nashville Memorial Hospital and later at Skyline Medical Center and was a faithful member of Orlinda Baptist Church. Mrs. Peyton enjoyed spending time reading and visiting with her neighbors and friend, Betty Dixon. However nothing brightened her day like spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Peyton is preceded in death by her husband Gerald Peyton and brothers, Morris Lackey and William Lackey.
She is survived by her children, Gerald Richard Peyton Jr, Melissa (Charles) Strickland and Warren Jay Peyton; grandchildren, Alyssa Jean (Matthew Fite) Strickland and Charles Allen (Brittney) Strickland; great-grandson, Charles Drake Strickland; sisters, Luana Hicks and Emily (Billy) Fryer and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Life Celebration Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 1st from 4-7 pm at Springfield Funeral Home. The family will have a private burial at Springfield Memorial Gardens. Online condolences can be made at www.SpringfieldFH.com.
