Ralph Arms

Ralph Allen Arms, Sr., 77, of Cedar Hill passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born, at home, in Adams, TN, Ralph was the son of the late Clyde B. Arms and Ada Bell M. (Jones) Arms.
Ralph ran a front-end loader and retired after more than 20 years working for Dowlen's Sawmill and more than 30 years, previously, at Hinkle Chair Company. Known as quite the story-teller, he loved to share tall tales and loved to make others laugh. He enjoyed squirrel hunting with his brother and loved to go fishing with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Growing up on the family farm he learned to raise crops. He enjoyed gardening and often shared his produce with others. He had a special place in his heart for his fur babies, particularly, his dogs, Lucky and Sassy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Kenneth Arms, 1 grandchild and 6 great-grandchildren.
Ralph is survived by his wife Frances (Mason) Arms; his children, Glenn Arms (wife-Tammy Herrick Arms), Mary Jo Chapman (husband-Johnny Chapman), Misty Wix (husband-Anthony Wix), Ginger Furr (husband-Jason Furr) and Ralph Arms Jr; his siblings Alvin Armes (wife-Donna Osborne Armes) and Debbie McEwing (husband-Don McEwing); 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A Life Celebration Service will be held Wednesday at 6PM at Springfield Funeral Home, 4005 Memorial Blvd., Springfield, TN. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 until 6 PM.
