Reginald O'Neal Clay, known affectionately as Reggie, went to be with his Lord and Savior peacefully on June 13, 2026, in Pleasant View, Tennessee. Born on November 4, 1968, in Nashville, Tennessee, Reggie led a life marked by determination, versatility, and an entrepreneurial spirit, having dedicated himself to an array of professions throughout his career.
He was a beloved husband to Trina Mucker Clay, to whom he was married for 25 wonderful years. Together, they built a nurturing home and cherished family life filled with love and support. Their children were a source of great pride to Reggie: his children, Enrico C. Clay, Shacola D. (Lynn) Clay, Shantoria Abernathy, and Eyonna Kilgora; and stepchildren Joycelyn R. Mucker and D'Andre L. Mucker alongside eight grandchildren and a multitude of other cherished children and grandchildren. He had a special place in his heart for his sister, Nicole Starnes; his Aunt Shirley Moore, and best friend, Bobby DeVoursney. Reggie loved his family and had a deep connection to DaRon L. Grundy and Dakota L. Mucker.
Reggie is survived by his devoted mother, Constance Jackson, and his father, Major Henderson Clay, Sr., who witnessed his growth and achievements with immense pride, along with his many siblings. The extended family, friends, and community alike will remember Reggie for his unwavering commitment to his loved ones and his resourceful spirit.
While Reggie’s life was filled with joy, it was not without sorrow. He was preceded in death by his son, Dejuantae Stuart, and step-children Danta Mucker and Mycheal Mucker. He also mourned the loss of his grandparents, Herbert and Millie Boyd.
A visitation will be held on June 20, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Ephesian Primitive Baptist Church, located at 1506 22nd Ave North in Nashville, Tennessee. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life service will take place from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM with Elder Dr. C.A. Hill officiating to honor and reflect upon Reggie’s remarkable life and legacy. Additional gatherings will continue at the same location until 7:00 PM.
Reggie’s memory will remain a guiding light to all who knew him. His embodiment of resilience, compassion, and love leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of his family and community. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
