Richard Phillip Poirier, age 77 of Springfield, passed away at White House Health and Rehab on Saturday, June 23, 2018.

He was born on June 27, 1940 to the late Victor J and Emily Poirier in Montague, Massachusetts. After his mother passed away his father married Almira White who helped raised him and his siblings.

In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his brothers, Victor J. Poirier Jr., Gerald Poirier, Ronald Poirier, Ronald Poirier, David Poirier and Eugene Poirier; daughter, Bonnie Mooresain; and daughter-in-law Rita Ann Campbell.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Betty Poirier; children, Cindy(Terry) Ledford and Eric Campbell; grandchildren, Jeremy (Courtney)Ledford, Drew (Kaylee) Ledford, Amber (Lee) Stem, Katherine Campbell, Racheal (James) McCloskey, and Joe (Irene) Moore; great- grandchildren, Jayden Colt Ledford, Arianna Ledford, Kinslee Ledford, and Hunter Moore; and sister, Margie Snay.

A Life Celebration will be held on Tuesday, July 3rd at 12pm in the chapel of Springfield Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10am until the time of service. A Private burial will be at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
