Robert Everett Woodard, age 82 of Cross Plains, passed away on May 3, 2020 with his daughters by his side.

He was born on October 25, 1937 in White House, TN to the late James and Lela Sage Woodard.

Mr. Woodard was described as a good man that loved his county and served in the United States Navy. He enjoyed fishing and sitting around cooking with this family on the weekends. Most Sunday mornings you would see him take his weekly drive through the county enjoying Gods creation.

Mr. Woodard will forever be remembered as a loving dad, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great- grandfather.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Woodard is preceded in death by his sons, Timothy Woodard, Robert Dean Woodard, and James "Dale" Woodard.

He is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Woodard and Dawn Woodard, nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

A Private Life Celebration will be held on Thursday, May 7th at 12pm in the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home. The family will have visitation on Wednesday from 3-5pm then again on Thursday from 10am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Springfield Memorial Gardens with Cory "Cornbread" Ferrell, Mike Ellis, Michael Ellis, Jesse James, Jr., Lee Robertson and Ian Hunter serving as pallbearers.
