Russell Owen Steele was a beloved husband, stepfather, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He passed away on June 6, 2023, at the age of sixty-one in his home in Goodlettsville, leaving behind memories that will be cherished by all.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland on November 27, 1962, Russell grew up with two loving parents Albert Russell Steele and Yvonne Roberts Steele and his younger brother Rooster Steele. Russell sported a love for living in the great outdoors and found immense joy in feeding the deer and turkeys while playing with Rex – his furry companion Schnauzer. However, he spent most of his time catching some fish at Kentucky Lake or watching his favorite pastime - NASCAR races or University of Tennessee football matches while cheering Go Vols! The legendary Dale Earnhardt always made it to the top of Russell's list.
Russell went on to marry the love of his life on February 24, 2005- Joyce Steele. It was one of his proudest accomplishments seeing her walk down the aisle towards him. With deep sorrow in our hearts, we mourn that Russell no longer gets to create more memories like this with Joyce.
Despite never having any children of his own: he built a beautiful family around himself with Joyce's two stepdaughters - Tiffany Prow (Cliff) and Erica Mason- who were never anything less than daughters to him- along with their respective children Ensley Mason and Cole Prow who became the absolute apple of his eye as grandchildren.
Russell’s cremation will be handled by Springfield Memorial Gardens Funeral Home & Cremation Center on June 7th at 18:49:26 followed by a simple gathering with his family at Kentucky Lake at a later date. .
