Obituary

Ruth "Beth" Hardin, a beloved figure whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, in Cedar Hill, Tennessee. Born on June 14, 1954, in Haywood County, North Carolina, Beth lived a life marked by devotion to her family, her community, and the simple joys that brought happiness to so many around her.

Beth was known for her many years of dedicated service at Lowes, where she became a familiar and trusted face, always ready to assist customers with returns and help solve their problems with patience and genuine care. Her love for people extended beyond her work; she could and would talk to strangers, making friends wherever she went. Music held a special place in Beth’s heart, especially the tapes of the bluegrass band she and her brother were part of in earlier years, melodies that carried the echoes of cherished memories and shared moments.

Her personality shone brightly—her love, kindness, and helpful spirit were evident to all who knew her. A proud parishioner of St. Michael Catholic Church, Beth found strength and peace in her faith, which was a guiding light throughout her life.

Beth treasured many pastimes, including fishing, feeding the birds, and spending treasured time with her dear niece Debora Buckner and Beth's dog Honey. Her hands created countless crocheted gifts, each stitch woven with love, embodying the deep affection she held for those around her. Above all, Beth’s proudest accomplishment was her family—her legacy was expressed in the love she gave endlessly and unconditionally.

She is deeply missed by her nieces and nephews, Debora Buckner, Joey (Rhonda) Anderson, Peggy Smith, stepchildren, Bob Hardin, Teresa Hardin, John Wesley (Becky) Hardin, and Tracy Long, numerous step grandchildren, sister-in-law, Rosemary (Stan) Wafford a host of great nieces and nephews, and cousins who carry forward her memory with affection.

Beth’s passing marks the loss of a cherished soul. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “Bill” Hardin with whom she shared many treasured years, stepson, Bill Hardin Jr. ; her parents, James “Burl” and Frances Henderson; and her siblings, Nancy Kay Anderson, Judy Smith, Rebecca Surrett, and Joel Burl Henderson.

The community will come together to honor Beth’s life beginning with a visitation at Springfield Memorial Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center, located at 4005 Memorial Boulevard, Springfield, Tennessee, on April 28, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A Mass celebrating her life will be held on April 29, 2026, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3553 S Carter Road, Cedar Hill, Tennessee, starting at 1:00 p.m. Following the service, Beth will be laid to rest at the same location, with burial beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Ruth “Beth” Hardin’s life, marked by her love for family, her kindness, and her joyous spirit, leaves an indelible imprint on the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy remains a beacon of love and genuine humanity, forever cherished and remembered.
