Ed Stansberry

Samuel Edward Stansberry, II, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 4, 2025, in Greenbrier, Tennessee, at the age of 59. Born on October 4, 1965, in Great Falls, Montana, Ed was known for his kind nature and unwavering love for his family.

After graduating from High School in Canada where his father was serving in the United States Air Force, Ed graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Ed dedicated 20 years of his career to Regions Bank, where he was currently serving as the Branch Manager at the Glenbrook Branch. His colleagues respected him not just for his professionalism, but for his integrity and dedication to his work.

Beyond his career, Ed found joy in a variety of activities that brought pleasure and fulfillment to his life. He especially cherished spending time with his wife in their vegetable garden, followed by quiet evenings watching the sunset together from the bench he had lovingly built for them to rest on, a pastime that allowed him to connect with nature and provide fresh produce for his family. Riding his Harley with his wife, Cindy, was another passion; the couple cherished their shared adventures together. Their vacations with family and friends—whether to the beach or the mountains—became treasured memories that they reflected upon with gratitude. Ed also enjoyed playing darts and indulging in good music, often creating a lively atmosphere for family gatherings.

Ed's warm personality shined during family time, where he delighted in singing karaoke, dancing with his grandchildren, and watching College Football :"Go Vols". His greatest pride came from the love he cultivated within his family, which he cherished above all else.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Stansberry; children, Samantha (Christopher) Moore and Tyler (Brittany Sweeney) Hallman; and grandchildren, Kaylee Moore, Xander Moore, and Dawson Moore. He is also remembered fondly by his mother, Donna Sue Stansberry; siblings, John (Rhonda) Stansberry, Pamela (Burke) Wooten, Michael Lee (Rie) Stansberry, and Karin Stansberry; mother in law, Shirley Slate; brother in law Steve (Shelia) Slate; sister in laws, Sherry Adcock and Karen Jackson, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Ed is preceded in death by his father, Samuel Edward Stansberry, I., his niece, Julia Schmidt, father-in-law, Carl E. Slate, and Nephew, Cody Adcock.

Visitation for Ed will be held at Springfield Memorial Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Springfield, TN. The first session of visitation will take place on July 11, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by an additional visitation on July 12, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will also be held on July 12, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Ed Stansberry will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication to family, and his zest for life. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
