Sandra Landes, born on February 3, 1951, in a time that shaped values and spirit, passed away on August 15, 2024. She leaves behind a legacy marked by love, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family.
Sandra's career in the delivery of car parts was more than just a job; it was a testament to her hardworking nature and her commitment to ensuring that others had what they needed. However, it was in her personal life where she truly shone. Her memories are filled with the simple joys of home, surrounded by her loved ones, where she fostered a warm and nurturing environment.
Known for her stubbornness, Sandra was a loving mother and cherished MawMaw who always put her family first. Her caring disposition meant she was always ready to give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. Her selflessness and commitment to her loved ones will always be remembered.
Sandra found fulfillment in a variety of hobbies and interests. She enjoyed ceramics, crafting beautiful pieces that reflected her creativity and attention to detail. Additionally, driving around in her truck brought her joy, symbolizing her adventurous spirit.
Among her proudest accomplishments were the roles she played as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. These titles were worn with pride and love, as she dedicated herself to nurturing the next generations.
A Life Celebration will be held on Monday, August 19th at 11am in the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 18th from 4-8pm then again on Monday from 9am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Springfield Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
In addition to her parents, Sandra is preceded in death by her son Robert Flinner; siblings, Arty Groves, Kathy Presley and Archie Groves.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Joseph) Key; grandchildren, Aaron (Kara) Price and Alexus (Tyler Derth) Key; granddaughter, Chesney Grace Derth; Life Partner, Douglas Edward Pewitt; siblings, Richard Groves, Patty Mercer, Arnold Groves, Robert Groves, David Groves, Joe Groves, Jerry Groves, Jeannie Madison.
Sandra Landes will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her impact on the lives of her family and friends will continue to resonate, keeping her spirit alive in their hearts.
