Stanley Gonet

Stanley Eugene Gonet, age 85 of Springfield and formally of Cleveland, Ohio passed away at The Waters of Robertson on January 28, 2023.

He was born on November 9, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Stanley and Eva Gonet. Mr. Gonet worked for over 40 years as an over-the-road truck driver working for Coca-Cola and American Spring Wire before retiring and moving to Tennessee. He was of the Catholic faith.

Stan married the love of his life on June 16, 1984, to Dollie and made their family of 10. He loved watching NASCAR and everything to do with cars. He worked for O’Reilly’s Auto Parts in Springfield for 16 years where he never met a stranger and was known as “Stan the Man.”

In addition to his parents, Stan is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Schenk

He is survived by his wife of 38 years Dollie Gonet; children, Sandy Ferderking, Janet (John)Ciaccio, Viston (Laurie) Batey, Lee (Dee) Batey, Paul Batey, Jimmy (Kim) Batey, Stanley M. “Chach” (Denise) Gonet and Patricia (John) Hollins; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A Life Celebration will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, at 2 pm in the chapel of Springfield Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 am until the time of service.
