Virginia Whitlow Ellis age 96 of Greenbrier, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019 at Wellington Place Assisted Living in Brentwood.

She was born Virginia Dare Whitlow to the late Tobias and Lille Mae Whitlow in Cedar Hill, TN. She married the love of her life in 1941 Mr. William Benjamin Ellis and was blessed with two children. Mrs. Ellis was one of Jehovah's Witnesses for the past 66 years.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ellis is preceded in death by her husband William Benjamin Ellis; four brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Ray (Patsy) Ellis; daughter Annette (Buddy) Roberts; grandchildren, John William (Julie) Gwaltney, Cindy (Chris) Ayers, Michelle "Missy" (Anthony) Thacker, Melanie (Mike) Scheetz, and Billy Roberts; great-grandchildren, Colton Shogren, Evan Thacker, Madison Gwaltney, Noah Ayers, Madelynne Thacker, Zane Gwaltney, Landon Thacker, Kate Scheetz and Will Scheetz.

A Life Celebration will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 1pm at Springfield Funeral Home with Chris Ayers officiating. Burial will follow at Springfield Memorial Gardens with John Gwaltney, Zane Gwaltney, Anthony Thacker, Chris Ayers, Buddy Roberts and Mike Scheetz. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11am until the time of service.
