William "Bill" Denney- age 79 of Hendersonville passed away March 16, 2014.
He was a 1953 graduate of East High School. Bill was a man of faith and a longtime member of New Bethel Baptist Church. During his working years he was a supervisor for Baird Ward Printing Company retiring after 35 years. Bill loved guns. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. He loved to hunt and was an avid skeet shooter. In his spare time he loved woodworking. Bill will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Jane Denney; daughters, Lily A. Pittman (Harry), Shelia Andrews (Brent) and Darlene Batey (Tray); sister, Gladys Crouch; brother, Roy C. Denney (Judy); 5 granddaughters; 4 great-granddaughters; 1 great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
A special thanks Paul and Gloria Moore, all the home health staff, the staff of Hendersonville Hospital, NHC Hendersonville and Pennington Place for all the wonderful care and support that was given to Bill for the last several years.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
A Life Celebration service will be held on Wednesday at 2pm in the chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Shrum officiating. Burial will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
