William Hinkle

William Winford Hinkle, Jr., a beloved figure in the community and  family man, passed away on August 6, 2025, in Greenbrier, Tennessee Born on February 4, 1959, in Springfield, TN, William was a graduate of Springfield High School and dedicated the last 35 years of his life to leading Hinkle Chair Company, a legacy he embraced after the passing of his father.

William’s life was marked by many cherished memories and passions. He took immense pride in his beautiful flower garden, which served as a reflection of his nurturing personality. Known for his humor and willingness to lend a hand during challenging times, he brought joy to all who knew him. His love for his family was profound; he enjoyed playing chess with his daughter Katherine, engaging in lively games of Yahtzee, and sharing the soothing sounds of classic rock with those around him. William often made family trips to the beach and treasured the unforgettable memories created during their vacation to Hawaii. He also found solace and inspiration in the scenic beauty of Asheville, NC.

William is survived by his two children, Bradley (Hailey Collins) Hinkle and Katherine "Katie" Hinkle. He leaves behind siblings Jeff Hinkle and Diane Hinkle Johnson, along with his best friends Mary and Jerry Choate. Additionally, he will be missed by a host of nieces and nephews who carry forward his spirit and values.

He joins in eternal rest his parents, William and Ora Sue Hinkle, and his Aunt Chonoliah Larose, whose influences shaped the man he became.

A Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 1-3pm at Springfield Memorial Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center, located at 4005 Memorial Blvd, Springfield, TN. 

William Hinkle, Jr. will be remembered not only for his professional achievements in expanding and developing Hinkle Chair Company but also for the laughter he shared, his unwavering support for his family, and the loving memories he created with those he cherished. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
