Willie Alfred Darrow, III age 42 of Springfield passed away on May 1st at his home.

He was born on August 21, 1974 to Willie Darrow and the late Barbara Ann Waldon in Springfield.

Turning a wrench since he was old enough to hold one, Alan D started his career as a mechanic on his and his brother's bike. Working with his dad on motorcycles and a lot of trial and error Alan D became one of the best mechanics around. One of Paul's favorite memories was when the brothers started rebuilding the ‘69 Chevelle with the "Plum Crazy Purple" interior. Alan D was a friendly, helpful and kind hearted man helping where he could when someone had a problem with their car.

In addition to his mother, Alan D. is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Shirley and Calvin Grant, paternal grandfather Willie Alfred Darrow, Sr. and uncle, Wesley Grant.

He is survived by his father, Willie Alfred (Judy) Darrow, Jr.; Significant other, Pam Thompson; children, Stormie Lynn Peak, Austin Alan Wayne Darrow, Willie A. Darrow, IV., Destiny Cheyanne Darrow, Hailey Cheyenne Darrow, Terry Alan Blaze Darrow; grandchildren, Macey Peak and Riley Darrow; brothers, Paul Elvis Darrow, James Brian Darrow, and Chris Waldon; and sister, Crystal Lynn Wright, Amber Nicole Baker, Carolyn Denis Darrow, Julianne Marie Darrow, Kimberly Nicole Darrow, Lacy Raymer and Natalie Waldon.

A Life Celebration will be held on May 6, 2017 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home with Brother Frankie Gagliano officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Willie Darrow, Paul Darrow, Phillip Darrow, Stevie Darrow, Timmy Groves, Ashley Eaden and John Robert Darrow serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 5th from 3:00pm to 8:00pm, then again on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of service.
