Olen Bilbrey

Olen Eugene Bilbrey, age 75 of Cedar Hill, passed away in Murfreesboro, TN on October 26, 2021.  He was born in Granby, Missouri on May 1, 1946 to the late Alfred and Audrey Bilbrey.  He is also preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Stephens Bilbrey; sisters, Oda Lee Vaughn, Pearl Mae Jones, Betsy Ann Bilbrey; nephew, Gabriel Brogan; uncle, Ben Bilbrey. He is survived by his daughters, Becky (Ronnie) Bilbrey-Foster, Barbara Gustafson, and Deborah (Donnie) Douglas; grandchildren, Scott Gustafson, Heather Gustafson, Nova Gustafson, Dezarae Rudy, Blake Rudy, Mykala Douglas, Destiny Douglas, Dylan Douglas, and Sierra Douglas; great-grandchildren, Kambrie Corzine, Liam Bradford; brother, Bill (Becky) Bilbrey.  Olen grew up in Missouri, and in 1968 married Catherine Stephens.  He was a veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam War, where he received the Purple Heart.  After his time in the service, Olen and his family settled in California, where they lived until moving to Middle Tennessee several years ago and enjoyed their retirement until Catherine passed away in 2017.  Visitation will be at Springfield Funeral Home Friday October 29, 2021 at 2pm with visitation from 12noon until service time.  Interment with military honors will be at Springfield Memory Gardens.  Steve Farmer will be officiating. Eulogies will be given by Heather and Nova Gustafson, Kevin and Natalie Bilbrey, Dezarae Rudy, and Blake Rudy.  Serving as pallbearers will be, Donnie Douglas, Brian Bilbrey, Paul Bilbrey, Kevin Bilbrey, Scott Gustafson, Nova Gustafson, Johnny Vaughn, and Heather Gustafson.
